Museum
Gotyk House is a place where according to the legend Nicolas Copernicus met Anna Schilling. Being aware of importance of this meeting we decided to open a mini-museum dedicated to the memory of Nicolas Copernicus and Anna Schilling.
Nicolas Copernicus is a genuine Renaissance man: an astronomer, doctor, poet, painter, mathematician, engineer and even a Commander defending the castle.
In the cellar of Gotyk House You will find the most significant works of Nicolas Copernicus: „Revolutionibus orbium colestium“ and „Narratio Prima” published in Gdansk in 1540.
On a permanent exhibition You can also see the real masterpieces like: “The apocalypse of John” from XV-th century or the old-dutch prayer book from XIV-th century.
An interesting exhibit is also a chest from 1539, which according to the legend of gotyk house belonged to Anna Schilling. It has been reconstructed using both materials and the technique of chests production in XVI-th century.
